Start at the Beginning!

“I’m creating a site, a realm. It’s a place where all my best thinking can go for a period of time, a place where the thoughts can be collected and arranged for more density of meaning.”

Elissa Gabert

Before web site creation, before esoteric analysis, the process begins with you, your writing, your narrative, your story. Without your writing, this process, this journey is without meaning or message. A good place to start is by reading Pat Schneider’s foundational book, Writing Alone and with Others, and adhering to its core philosophical guidelines.

  • Everyone has a strong, unique voice and creative genius.
  • Writing belongs to all people, regardless of background.
  • A writer is simply someone who writes.
  • Do no damage: teach craft without harming a writer’s original voice.
